What Do I Need To Join The Credit Union?

In order to join Ayrfield Credit Union you must live or work within our Common Bond or district. Adult membership costs just €1.27 and is free for young members under the age of 16 years. To join you will need the following documents of identification:

  • A valid photo ID such as a passport, driving licence, Garda ID or Full Birth Certificate.
  • A utility bill Gas, ESB, Mortgage or Rent in your name and showing that you live in the area (Mobile Phone bills or NTL is not acceptable)
  • You’re PPS Number on an official document from the Department of Social Protection or from Revenue
  • If you are a non EU National you will need a valid GNIB card and your TIN number

How Much Can I Borrow From The Credit Union?

A first loan with Ayrfield credit union members may borrow up to the limit of their savings in the Credit Union. Members should develop a regular savings habit with the credit union for at least 3 months before any loan is considered. However, if you require a loan prior to membership of 3 months this will be considered and subject to certain terms and conditions.

As with all members who borrow, the credit union looks at one’s ability to repay, other loans outstanding and the financial history of the member. The Board of Directors may consider each loan on its own individual merits.

How Do I Apply For A Loan?

If you wish to apply for a loan you can do so by calling to the offices, online at www.ayrfieldcreditunion.ie or over the phone. The first step is to complete the loan application form, our staff will assist in any way possible.

Most loans will be assessed within a 24 hour period. In other cases the loan decision may take longer as documentation may be required to support your application. Supporting documentation includes evidence of address and ID, payslips and bank statements.

Is There A Maximum Amount I Can Apply For?

The credit union will look at any application for any amount that is for a provident & productive purpose within its overall loan limit restrictions.

Is There A Minimum or Maximum Share Level?

The credit union encourages its’ members to save on a regular basis, especially if they wish to borrow from the credit union. The minimum share balance is €10. A member may have savings with the credit union of up to 1% of the total assets of the credit union.

Can I Transact Online?

You can register for Ayrfield Credit Unions online PIN number at www.ayrfieldcreditunion.ie

Your online PIN allows you to view your share and loan accounts online.

If you wish to save on a regular basis without visiting our offices you can do so by completing a Standing Order mandate form. This will allow you to save and make repayments on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis.

The credit union is now in a position to transfer funds directly to your bank account using EFT, or Electronic Fund Transfer.

“I can’t physically get to the credit union office. What can I do?”

Set up a Standing Order, pay by Visa Debit over the phone, transact online, telephone us or use the postal services.

Ayrfield Credit Union Bank details:  Ayrfield Credit Union Ltd. now operate an on line banking facility and each Credit Union Member has an individual IBAN and must contact the Credit Union Office to obtain these numbers.

Please ensure that you enter your account details with Ayrfield Credit Union when transacting with your bank - Your Ayrfield Credit Union Account Number and Surname will enable the Credit Union to allocate monies received accurately to your account.

Can I Withdraw My Savings If I Have A Loan?

You may be able to withdraw some of your savings as they may not be pledged as security against your loan. If you have saved since you borrowed you can certainly access your additional shares. Terms & conditions apply.
